1. About the Service
Sertio (sertio.no) is an e-learning platform operated by Sertio AS that offers courses in Hot Work (Varme Arbeider) certification. The service includes theory exams, course certificates, and tools for documenting practical exercises.
2. Course Certificates and Certification
- Sertio issues a course certificate (kursbevis) after passing the theory exam
- The course certificate is NOT a final certification
- Final certification is issued by the Norwegian Fire Protection Association (NBF) after completing a practical fire extinguishing exercise
- The practical exercise must be completed within 3 months before or after the theory exam
- The certificate is valid for 5 years
3. Contracting Parties

4. Payment and Pricing
- Access to the course requires payment before the course starts
- Online course (Nettkurs) — total NOK 1,897.50: Sertio online course NOK 1,290 (VAT-exempt) + mandatory Norwegian Fire Protection Association (Brannvernforeningen) fees of NOK 607.50 (digital certificate NOK 270, VAT-exempt, and e-textbook NOK 337.50 incl. 25% VAT). These fees apply to all course providers.
- Complete package (Komplett pakke) — NOK 2,885: online course + practical fire extinguishing exercise (Praktisk slukkeøvelse) with VR equipment
- Practical exercise (Praktisk slukkeøvelse) — NOK 990: the practical exercise only; does not grant access to the online course or the exam
- Payment is processed via Vipps MobilePay (including card payment) before course access is granted
- The total price, including any VAT, is always displayed before purchase is confirmed
- Payment is charged at the time of order
5. Delivery
The course is a digital product delivered immediately after approved payment. You get access to the course via sertio.no with your registered user account.
6. Right of Withdrawal
Pursuant to the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven) §22(n), the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content delivered electronically when delivery has commenced with the consumer's express prior consent, and the consumer has acknowledged that the right of withdrawal is thereby waived.
By confirming the purchase, you consent to delivery starting immediately and that the right of withdrawal lapses when you gain access to the course content.
If you have not started the course, you may contact us at martin@sertio.noto request a refund. Such requests are assessed individually.
7. Returns and Refunds
The course is a digital product delivered electronically. Returns are not possible after delivery has commenced, cf. section 6 on the right of withdrawal. For refund requests before course start, see section 6.
8. Cancellation and Changes (Courses)
The purchase grants access to the full course and certification exam. The course has no time limit — you may complete it at your own pace. Cancellation after starting the course is not possible, cf. section 6 on right of withdrawal.
9. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
- For defects or issues with the service, contact us at martin@sertio.no within a reasonable time
- We will attempt to resolve the complaint within 14 business days
- If the dispute is not resolved, you may file a complaint with the Norwegian Consumer Authority (forbrukertilsynet.no) or the Consumer Disputes Commission
- You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/odr
10. User Responsibilities
- You must be 16 years or older to use the service
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential
- All exam answers must be your own
- Cheating attempts result in suspension and invalidated results
- You are responsible for completing the practical fire extinguishing exercise
11. Intellectual Property
All course content, including text, images, videos, and quiz questions, belongs to Sertio AS. Content may not be copied, distributed, or used commercially without written consent.
12. Limitation of Liability
- Sertio is a course provider, not a certification authority
- We do not guarantee that the course certificate will be accepted by all employers or insurance companies
- Users are responsible for following applicable hot work regulations
- We are not liable for damages resulting from misuse of learned knowledge
13. Termination
You can delete your account at any time via profile settings. Deletion is processed within 30 days in accordance with GDPR. Legally required data (payments, certificates) is retained per applicable laws.
14. Changes to Terms
We may change these terms. Significant changes are notified at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be handled by the Oslo District Court.
